Ballantrae CDD Board of Supervisors

The goal of the five-member Board of Supervisors is to contribute a wide-range of backgrounds in representing and protecting the interests of landowners. Ballantrae’s Board consists of five resident landowners. The Board employs a Management Team and other partners to perform specific duties for the CDD as well as to advise the Board on matters within their areas of expertise. It is the responsibility of each Board member to exercise common sense and draw upon their experience in evaluating and acting upon all matters and advice that come before them. Steve Bobick was appointed to the Board in July of 2013 to fill a vacancy in Supervisor Seat No. 5 as an Assistant Secretary. That term expired in November 2016. That month, he was elected for a full four-year term expiring in November 2020. He serves as an Assistant Secretary. Steve has been a resident of Ballantrae since 2006 residing in Castleway. Originally from Cheverly, Maryland just outside of Washington, DC, he has been a resident of Florida since 1974. Steve has been a professional musician for most of his life but, in 1996 changed professions to become a Real Estate Appraiser of which he still practices today. He and his wife have 5 children together and 5 grandchildren. Steve takes great pride in residing in Ballantrae and is looking forward to serving the needs of the community. Jim Flateau was first elected as an Assistant Secretary to the open Seat No. 4 in November 2007. He was reelected to full four-year terms in both November of 2012 and 2016, the latter expiring in November 2020. He was the first resident landowner elected to serve as Board Chair, from November 2007 through November 2014, followed by a year as Vice Chairman. He was then reelected Chairman in November 2015 and again in November 2016. He is semi-retired after two careers, the first as an award-winning journalist. He then served two New York governors as chief spokesman for the state’s then-$2 billion-a-year prison system. He and his partner, Rita Lang, have lived in Braemar since 2005. Richard Levy was appointed to Seat No. 2 in February 2008 to fill an unexpired term as Assistant Secretary. He was elected to a full four-year term in November 2010. He was re-appointed to the board in 2014 for a full four-year term expiring in 2018. He was elected Chairman in 2014. He was elected Vice Chairman in 2015 and again in 2016. Rich is a husband, father and mortgage professional. He also served as the Ballantrae Homeowners Associations Design Review Board Chair. Christopher Milano was appointed to the Board in March 2015 to fill an unexpired term in Seat No. 3 as an Assistant Secretary. That term expires in November 2018. He is an original property owner and active resident of Castleway since March 2006. He is a married professional living with his wife, Lisa, and their 2 elementary-school aged children. He was originally from New Jersey. He has been a resident of Florida since 1985 and grew up in Pinellas county. He is a graduate of the University of Florida. Cecilio (Tony) Thomas was appointed as an Assistant Secretary in 2014 to fill a vacancy in Seat No. 1 expiring that same year. He was elected in November 2014 to a full four-year term expiring in 2018. Tony, his wife, and two daughters have resided in Ayrshire since March of 2005. Tony is the CEO of his own software engineering company specializing in Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) in the Healthcare industry. Tony looks forward to being a part of the critical decision making process that will continue to ensure that Ballantrae remains a vibrant and fiscally strong community.
